Monitoring and Support Tools

The ScholarOne Manuscripts application provides several tools for monitoring, troubleshooting, and managing message traffic. Depending on system requirements, endpoints can be defined and maintained at either the publisher (portal) level or the journal (site) level.

When endpoints are defined at the portal level, subscriptions can be configured and managed for all child journals. The same structure applies to searching and reporting on message delivery activity.

Notification Services Report

The Notification Services Report enables customers to search across all created messages. The report provides visibility into:

  • Message origin details
  • Delivery status and history
  • Payload content
  • Delivery attempts
  • The ability to cancel messages that are pending successful delivery

Search and Filtering

Users can search for messages using advanced filter criteria. (See screenshot below.)

Message Management

Created messages matching the filter criteria are displayed in an interactive grid. From here, users can:

  • Select the “X” icon in the Actions column to cancel a message that has not yet been successfully delivered, previously canceled, or expired. (See screenshot below.)

  • Access additional details for each message by selecting the magnifying glass icon. (See screenshot below.)

Notification Services Endpoints

The Notification Services Endpoints view lists all configured endpoints for a given site (journal or portal). From this interface, users can manage endpoint availability, including the ability to temporarily place endpoints on hold.

  • Selecting the On Hold checkbox pauses all delivery attempts for both existing messages and new messages created during the hold period.
  • Clearing the On Hold checkbox resumes normal delivery and immediately releases any queued messages accumulated while the endpoint was on hold.
